ASEAN is ready for a free market, but are we?

Both the government and private sectors have been gearing up for the commencement of the ASEAN Economic Community in the coming year. The Ministry of Commerce’s focus is on developing Thailand as a logistics hub of ASEAN. The Department of International Trade Promotion is providing a venue for logistics service providers to showcase logistical technologies to be on par with international standards. The department is also setting up a center to provide business advice for Thai logistics operators investing in ASEAN countries.

The TILOG and Logistix events which will be held on September 2-4, 2015 are well worth a visit for operators who want to develop their technological competence. The events are a step toward pushing Thailand to become the regional hub of integrated logistics. The main target audience of the events includes importers, exporters, warehouse operators, distributors, as well as logistics service providers both in Thailand and abroad. The focus of this year’s events will be on four key industries, namely food and beverages, personal care products, automotive, and electronics.

Those who are interested can join the events at BITEC Bangna during September 2-4, 2015. As many as 9,000 participants are expected to join the 3-day events.
